Handling: Syskonen Julia och Edvin har nyss kommit tillbaka hem efter sitt senaste äventyr i Tusenvärld och deras mamma är inte speciellt glad på dem. Hon förbjuder dem från att återvända dit och varnar Trubaduren om att inte ta tillbaka barnen till den världen. Men Kasir är i behov av hjälp, då det finns personer i Tusenvärld med mörka planer. Julia och Edvin får väl helt enkelt smita iväg när mamma inte ser och återvända till världen där deras pappa är en stor hjälte.
De politiska intrigerna i Pallantor med dess grundare i spetsen kan dock vara lite för mycket för Julia, Edvin och Kasir att hantera. Vem kan man egentligen lita på?

Min åsikt om boken: Det här är ett recensionsexemplar, tack så mycket för det! 🙏
Jag gillade första boken "Dunkelstjärnan" väldigt mycket, då den kändes originell, rolig och spännande, så jag såg verkligen fram emot att läsa uppföljaren. Jag läste ut "Spegelbulden" över helgen och tyckte den hade ett bra driv. Sidorna bara flög förbi. Det var sällan tråkigt utan nånting höll igång handlingen hela tiden på ett bra sätt. Dock kände jag att betydelsen av handlingen kanske var lite oklar. Det är ju trots allt en fortsättning på förra boken men den gav inte så mycket till helheten, utan det kändes lite som den där klassiska förbannelsen med uppföljare som bara är ett sorts mellanspel till nästa bok. Men jag vill understryka att den känslan/åsikten är vag. Boken i sig är fortfarande spännande, underhållande och mysig att läsa. Ibland stör jag mig lite på Julia, men jag vet inte om det är för att hon är ung och naiv eller för att jag, rent generellt, har lite svårt att förstå mig på folk. Jag tycker hon tar konstiga beslut och kan vara lite för emotionell, men barn är ju såna. Så det är nödvändigtvis inte bokens fel. Jag hade gärna velat ha något mer djup i handlingen och nåt mer konkret. Kanske att "skurken" hade blivit avslöjad eller att Lalora blev snäll (trots förklaringen i slutet fattade jag ändå inte riktigt vad hennes problem var, haha). Saker och ting kanske förändras i nästa bok, för jag kan inte tänka mig att det inte kommer mer. Ibland är ju bok nr 2 en sorts mellanakt för att föra handlingen vidare och sen kommer den stora upplösningen. Jag var ändå rätt nöjd och glad efter att ha läst ut boken för det var en trevlig resa och jag vill gärna återvända till Tusenvärld igen! Jag får inte heller glömma att nämna de fina illustrationerna i boken, så mysiga och underbara. Helt fantastiska!

Eller kanske menade han att alla elever behövde vara redo för att bidra i kriget mot fördunklarna när de hade studerat klart. Men oavsett vad han menade var hans svenska ändå mycket bättre än hennes sulalliska, påminde hon sig själv."

Title: This book doesn't have an english title (yet) so I just translated it. Could mean both "the mirror image" and "the reflection".

Story: The siblings Julia and Edvin just arrived home from their latest adventure in Thousandworld and their mom is not happy with them. She forbids them to ever return there and warns the Traoubadour not to bring the kids back to that world. But Kasir needs help, because there are people in Thousandworld with dark plans. Julia and Edvin just have to sneak away when mom isn't looking and return to the world where their father is a huge hero.
The political intrigues in Pallantor with it's founder in the the forefront might be too much for Julia, Edvin and Kasir to handle. Who can they really trust?

I really liked the first book "The Darkenstar" a lot, because it felt original, fun and suspenseful, so I was really looking forward to read the sequel. I read "The Mirror Image" over the weekend and thought it had a good drive to it. The pages just flew by. It was hardly ever boring, everything went on smoothly in a good way. I did, however, feel like the meaning of the plot was a bit unclear for me. It is a continuation of the previous book but it didn't add much to the over all picture, so it felt a little like the classic curse of the sequel just being a middle act until the next book. But I want to underline that this feeling/opinion is weak. The book itself is still exciting, fun and really cosy to read. At times I'm annoyed by Julia, but I don't know if it's because she's young and naïve or if it's because I, generally, have a hard time understanding people. I think she makes weird decisions and can be a bit too emotional, but kids are like that on the other hand. So it may not be because of the book itself. I would have liked some more depth in the plot and something more concrete. Maybe that the "villain" was revealed or that Lalora suddenly became nice (despite the explanation in the end I still didn't get what her problem was, haha). Things might change in the next book, because I can't imagine it not being another book in the making. Sometimes book no 2 is a kind of middle act to just bring the plot onwards to the big reveal in the last book. I was still pretty happy after finishing the book because it was a nice journey and I would love to go back to Thousandworld again! I must also point out that the illustrations in the book was really amazing and lovely! Really great.

"It struck Julia that a lot would be easier if Kasir could just learn to speak swedish properly. Did he mean that they were going to fight each other on the field trip? Or maybe he meant that all students must be prepared to contribute in the war against the darkenwraiths when they're done studying. But regardless of what he meant, his swedish was a lot better than her sulallian she reminded herself".
