Handling: Geralt blev skadad efter katastrofen vid det senaste magikermötet och tas nu om hand av dryader i skogen Brokilon. Det går rykten om att Ciri har blivit tillfångatagen och förd till Nilfgaard, där kungen vill gifta sig med henne och därmed få mer makt. När Geralt inser detta ger han sig genast iväg. På vägen träffar han både dvärgar, vampyrer och människor. Ensamvarg som han är tänker han inte behålla sällskapet på väg till Nilfgaard, men Geralt kanske inte har så mycket att säga till om...

Min åsikt om boken: Till skillnad från de tidigare böckerna kändes den här mer humoristisk men också lite händelselös. Eller ja, inte så att den var tråkig men den handlade mest om att vandra och att inte hamna mitt i kriget mellan Nilfgaard och de andra nationerna. Det var inte så mycket monster eller liknande, som man är van vid när det gäller Geralt. Jag uppskattade dock att få uppleva hur Geralt är i sällskap och att handlingen var lite mer alldaglig. Trots att det inte händer så mycket så är boken fortfarande underhållande och det går fort att läsa. Jag uppskattade speciellt slutet (som jag ju inte kan avslöja) för man får reda på lite mer om Geralt. Det var också kul att få veta varför han valde namnet Geralt av Rivia och vad han först hade tänkt kalla sig. Jag blev som sagt förvånad över att det var så mycket humor i boken, för jag kan inte minnas att de tidigare böckerna var så. Antingen har jag glömt av det eller så missade jag det totalt, men det är flera karaktärer som skämtar i den här boken och driver med varandra, vilket gjorde upplevelse väldigt trevlig! Uppskattade speciellt när vampyren berättade om sitt bloddrickande som ett problem, ungefär som människors alkoholproblem. Det var väldigt roligt faktiskt. Han pratade om att han var en typisk tonåring som inte kunde kontrollera drickandet och att folk inte ville bjuda in honom på fest om han inte drack osv. Det lät precis som ett tonårsproblem med alkohol, haha. En rolig detalj som jag uppskattade! Jag tycker den här serien bara växer och växer, så ser verkligen fram emot att läsa nästa bok.

Story: Geralt was injured after the disaster at the last magician meeting and is now taken care of by dryads in the forst Brokilon. There are rumors that Ciri has been captured and taken to Nilfgaard, where the king wants to marry her and get more power. When Geralt realises this is the case he must leave at once. On his way he meets both dwarves, vampires and humans. Because he's a loner he insists on not keeping the company on his way to Nilfgaard, but Geralt might not have much of a choice in the matter...

My opinion about the book: Unlike the previous books this one felt more humorous but also a bit uneventful. Not that it was boring but it was more about walking and not getting into the war between Nilfgaard and the other nations, than anything else. There were not many monsters in it as you would have expected when it comes to Geralt. I did appreciate the experience of how Geralt is with company and that the plot was more about every day life. Even though not much happens in the book it's still entertaining and easily read. I appreciated the end (which I will not reveal of course) because you got to know more about Geralt. It was also fun to get to know why he chose the name Geralt of Rivia and what he first imagined calling himself. I was surprised, however, by the humor in the book, because I don't recall that being in the other books. Either I forgot about it or missed it completely, but several of the characters in this book jokes and poke fun at each other, which was very pleasent! I also liked the part with the vampire talking about his blood drinking like it was a problem, as alcohol can be for some humans. It was really funny actually. He talked about being a teenager drinking too much and being pier pressured into drinking, not being invited to parties because he didn't drink at first and so on. It sounded like a teenage problem with alcohol, haha. A funny detail I appreciated! I think this series just keeps growing so I really look forward to read the next book.
