Handling: Mariell dör i en olycka tillsammans med sitt basketlag och de hamnar i Dödsriket, en mycket underlig och surrealistisk plats. Innan hon ens har förstått vad som har hänt möts hon av en man som gör någon konstig rörelse framför henne och sedan går mot Ljuset, där han försvinner. Mariell försöker göra samma sak, utan att lyckas.
Efter att ha utforskat Dödsriket får hon till slut reda på att det finns Livstjuvar. Döda personer som stjäl nydödas sista andetag och på så sätt kan återvända till livet. Mariell kan inte sluta tänka på att göra precis samma sak, men det är en sorts dödssynd. Är en livstid verkligen värd att straffas för i en hel evighet?
Min åsikt om boken: Jag tyckte att boken var intressant vad gäller hur dödsriket var uppbyggt, då det var mycket originellt och fantasifullt med olika delar/länder/världar och maskhål! Det jag kände var dock att jag inte riktigt fick någon koppling till Mariell. Man lärde liksom känna henne på ytan, att hon gillade basket, Tove Lo och gärna ville tillbaka till sina föräldrar och sin pojkvän Måns. Men djupare än så gick det inte. Det kändes inte riktigt som att Mariell som karaktär var tillräckligt utvecklad och som att hon personifierade bilden av en tonåring på ett lite klyschigt sätt, både vad gäller tankesättet och språket. Det behöver nödvändigtvis inte vara dåligt, men det var inte riktigt i min smak. Jag kände inte det där engagemanget som jag annars brukar, att man hejar på karaktären och känner med den i allt. Jag var inte en del av berättelsen utan mer som en betraktare, så fick inte till det där djupet som jag annars älskar med böcker. Boken är dock inte dålig, men nånting saknades för min del.

Title: This book doesn't have an english title so I just translated the swedish one.
Story: Mariell dies in an accident together with her entire basketball team and they end up in the Underworld, a very weird and surreal place. Before she even has the time to grasp what has happened a man approaches her and does some weird movement in front of her and then heads to the Light, where he disappears. Mariell tries to do the same thing but with no success.
After exploring the Underworld she finally finds out that there are Life thieves. Dead people who steals the last breath of newly dead and gains access to Life again. Mariell can't stop thinking about doing the same thing, but it's a kind of cardinal sin. Is a life time really worth to be punished for forever?
My opinion of the book: I thought the book was interesting regards to how the Underworld was structured, because it was very original and imaginative with the different parts/realms and worm holes! I did however feel like I didn't quite connect with Mariell. You got to know her on the suface, that she liked basketball, Tove Lo and really wanted to get back to her parents and her boyfriend Måns, but it never went deeper than that. It was like Mariell as a character wasn't developed enough and like she personified the image of a teenager in a cliché way, both in regards of her thinking and how she spoke. It's not necessarily bad, but not my cup of tea. I never felt that commitment that I usually do, when you're rooting the character and feel whatever they're feeling. I was not a part of the story, more an observer, so never got that depth I otherwise love with books. It's not a bad book, but something was missing in my opinion.
