Nytt i hyllan del 1/News on the shelf part 1

Det har trillat in lite fler böcker, men jag har faktiskt inte betalat en krona för dem, haha. Så jag har inte köpt böcker, fast det har jag ju ändå. Egentligen har jag inte plats för det, men jag fick ett presentkort på Akademibokhandeln av min kära mor när jag fyllde år och när maken behövde nya pennor gick vi dit. Jag kunde ju inte direkt låta bli att kolla på eller köpa ett par böcker.
Sedan var vi på Scifibokhandeln igår efter mitt frisörbesök och vädret var ju fint, så man ville inte åka hem på direkten heller. Maken bjöd på bokköpet så fick hem ett par stycken till. Men jaja, så kan det gå. Visar först här böckerna från Scifibokhandel.

For the Wolf är en sorts nyversion av Rödluvan, men handlar om Red som är den enda "Andra dottern" som fötts på flera hundra år och hon har bara ett syfte - att offras till Vargen i skogen för att rädda kungariket. Red är ganska lättad över detta då hon plågas av farliga krafter som hon inte kan styra och genom att offras kan hon inte skada någon annan igen. Men legenden om offrandet och Vargen visar sig vara fel. Vargen är en man och Reds krafter är inte farliga, snarare tvärtom. Hon måste dock lära sig att styra dem innan hela hennes kungarike och värld går under...

The Second Bell handlar om en flicka som fötts med två hjärtan i en isolerad bergsby. Enligt tron där är att barn med två hjärtan onda demoner och de kallas för "striga". De överges i skogen för att rädda byn och det enda valet barnens mammor har är att följa med barnen ut i skogen eller att låta dem dö ensamma där. Miriat gjorde sitt val och nu lever hon med sin 19-åriga dotter, Salka, i fattigdom i en ödslig by. Salka är envis och när hon hotas med att förlora allting tvingas hon utforska sin egen natur och bandet mellan sig själv och sin mamma.

Beasts Made of Night handlar om staden Kos, där renhet hyllas och att renas kostar. Korrumperade magiker kan extrahera synder från folk i form av "syndbestar", dödliga varelser som består av skuld. Unga "syndätare" tas i tjänst av magikerna och deras jobb är att döda bestarna. Men för varje best de dödar får de en tatuering på kroppen och tar över känslan som varelserna består av. Taj är en ung syndätare och han kallas till det kungliga slottet för att förtära en best, men den är värre än något han tidigare mött och snart inser han att det finns en konspiration som vill förgöra hela staden.

David Mogo Godhunter handlar om en värld där gudar har fallit till jorden i tusentals och det råder kaos. David Mogo är en halvgud och själv en gudsjägare. Hans jobb just nu är att tillfångata två av de mest kraftfulla gudarna i staden och föra dem till en gangstertrollkarl, vilket borde vara enkelt. Eller hur?

New books have found their way home to me, but I didn't pay a dime for them, haha. So I haven't really bought any books, yet I have in a way. I really don't have the space for them, but I got a gift card at Akademibokhandeln by my mother on my birthday and when Le Husband wanted new pens we went to that store. I couldn't help myself from looking or buying a couple of books.
Yesterday we went to the Scifi book store after my visit to the hairdresser and the weather was nice, so I didn't want to go straight home either. Le Husband paid for my books so I got yet another bunch of books with me home. But yeah, that's how it is sometime.
I'll first show the books from the Scifi book store. 

For the Wolf is kind of like a new version of Red Ridinghood. It's about Red whos the only "Second daughter" in centuries and she has only one purpose - to be sacrificed to the Wolf in the woods to protect the kingdom. Red is relieved because the is plagued by dangerous powers that she can't control and by being sacrificed she can't hurt anyone again. But legends lie. The Wolf is a man and Red's powers are not dangerous, quite the opposite. She must learn how to control them before her kingdom and world is destroyed...

The Second Bell is about a girl that is born with two hearts in an isolated mountain village. According to the beliefs there, children with two hears are evil demons called "striga". They are abandoned in the forest to save the village and the only choice for the mothers is to either let the children die alone in the woods or to follow them. Miriat made her choice and now she lives with her 19 year old daughter, Salka, in poverty in a desolate village. Salka is headstrong and when she's threathened to lose everything she must explore her nature and the bond with her mother.

Beasts Made of Night is about the city of Kos, where purity is exalted and getting cleansed comes at a cost. Corrupted mages can extract the sins from people in the form of "sin beasts", lethal creatures of guilt. Young "sin eaters" are indentured by the mages and their job is to kill the beasts. But for every beast they kill they get a tattoo on their body and take of the feeling the creatures are made off. Taj is a young sin eater and he is called to the royal palace to devour a beast, but it's must worse than anything he's ever met and soon he realises that there's a conspiracy to destroy the city.

David Mogo Godhunter is about a world there gods have fallen to the earth in their thousands and chaos reigns. David Mogo is a demigod and a godhunter. His job right now is to capture two of the most powerful gods in the city and bring them to a wizard gangster, which should be easy. Right?
